Legion Bursaries
bursaries2012Three BRHS students, Zachery Taylor, Reece Elliot Hewey and Alanda Cress were each awarded $1,000 bursaries by the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 33, Bridgetown for secondary education.  The Branch has for the past number of years awarded bursaries from the Poppy Fund.   Funds for such programs are raised through the Poppy Campaign each October and November through community donations.  In addition to the bursaries, the Poppy Trust Fund also supports veterans and veteran organizations such as Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation DVA, and Walter Callow Bus Fund.   Donations to this important endeavour are tax deductible and past campaigns have shown a tremendous support from residents and businesses in the Bridgetown and surrounding areas.
